Susan Pascoe

Susan Pascoe AM (Principal)

From February 2011 Susan Pascoe will be working as a part-time consultant and part-time Commissioner. She completed a term as one of three Royal Commissioners on the 2009 Victorian Bushfires Royal Commission in August 2010 and returned to her role as a Commissioner on the State Services Authority where she chairs independent inquiries for the Victorian Government. Ms Pascoe's earlier career was in education where she moved from teaching at all levels of education to the roles of consultant, chief executive, president, and chair of a number of education bodies, as well as medal recipient of its principal professional body. Ms Pascoe has extensive governance experience and currently chairs a national education board, is a member of a health board and chairs its clinical governance committee. She has participated in numerous national inquiries and taskforces, and participated in or led a number of Australian delegations to the OECD and UNESCO.

Susan Pascoe has specialist expertise in the establishment and conduct of inquiries and of major organisational reviews. Throughout much of her career she has initiated and conducted program, policy and project evaluation. She has a reputation for ethical conduct, strong communication skills, effective governance, good judgement, impartiality, professionalism and efficiency.

Ms Pascoe will not undertake consultancy work for the Victorian Government until she completes her Commissioner appointment in late August 2011 in order to avoid any actual, potential or perceived conflict of interest.




Robert Pascoe

Prof Robert Pascoe (Director)

Prof Robert Pascoe (Director) teaches History at Victoria University (VU) and supervises or conducts projects for Kadisha Enterprises.  Victoria University awarded him the honorific title of Dean Laureate in recognition of his 17 years as founding Dean of Arts at that institution. He was also the head of the university’s St Albans campus for five years. In these roles he had academic, human resource, budgetary and physical capital responsibilities. Prof Pascoe has contributed to, or led numerous reviews in Australian universities, particularly in the humanities and social sciences.

Professor Pascoe is the author of two dozen books in social history and Australian education, including commissioned biographies and histories of businesses and communities. An overview of his professional experience is here.

Carla Pascoe

Dr Carla Pascoe (Director)

Dr Carla Pascoe (Director) is a freelance public historian and independent scholar. She works as a part-time public servant and part-time historian.  Her government work is with the community sector, giving her a good grasp of both government and NFP issues. Her other professional experience is in the field of museum curating. Dr Pascoe has published five peer-reviewed articles, served on the organising committee of four conferences, and tutored at two universities over a period of seven years.  She has volunteered at human rights and welfare organisations in Australia, Canada, Cambodia and Vietnam.  Dr Pascoe was the presenter on a recent DVD education series on the Australian environment.
